Don’t miss your chance to embark on a journey to the unknown.
You’ll think later how it all turns out for you.
Come with a light heart and no regrets.
Unknown really is not as scary as some of the things you already know.
Come and don’t be afraid to fall.
You will fall not down – but UP!
The Fool is always cheerful.
Don’t take too seriously what’s going on with you.
Learn to laugh at yourself.
And you will understand that life really is only a game…

You remember The Fool’s number – “0”, the number of God, Eternity, Unlimited Energy and the New Beginnings.
The Fool’s card is indisputably the most important and special card of all Tarot Major Arcana cards.
It opens a new cycle for our Hero, when he concludes the old one and embarks on a new journey, but on a higher level of the Spiral of Life.
Feel the energy of this card! The Fool is not as foolish as you might think!
The Fool is pure and innocent, fresh, fearless, spontaneous, lively, bursting at the seams with enthusiasm, new ideas and creativity.
His eyes are lit up with awe and excitement, and a big smile doesn’t leave his face.
The Fool is always in high spirits, in a fantastic mood! See him approaching you with his dancing steps and jokes ready to fly off his lips.
Yes, The Fool is full of beans, always funny and joyful.
Do you like good stand-up comedy? The Fool lives in every hilarious comedian.
He loves Life, and he firmly believes that Life loves him back!
The World is his Oyster! The World full of Wonders, Endless Opportunities and Lovely Surprises waiting around every corner!
He is a rebel – revolutionary, breaking the old systems and bringing a breath of fresh air wherever he goes, extraordinary, bold and genius, charismatic and irresistible.
Galileo Galilei, Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein have been these Fools who dared to encroach on traditional physics. Their ideas were so revolutionary that they were denied, and the traditional science treated them as foolish in the very beginning.
Genius and Madness go hand in hand (two sides of the same coin).
Maybe we are not Einsteins, but actually we don’t want to be absolutely normal either. To be “normal” sounds boring, like eating bland food.
We like to think that we are… maybe not mad, but at least a little bit crazy – to spice up our personality!
Jesus Christ’s ideas were different, bold and not in accordance with the traditional Church beliefs that days.
Foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of Man.
The Bible, 1 Corinthians 1:25
Man’s wisdom pales faced with the wisdom of God.
Greek philosopher Socrates famously said when he reached the pinnacle of his wisdom:
I know that I know nothing.
Every adventurer, traveller and explorer – Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo – have been the mighty Fools.
Gypsy, Hippie at heart, born to be free, too wild to be tamed, a child of Nature, a child of God… Is it you?
If it is, you’ve got the strong Fool card’s energy inside.
The Fool lays his own groove and makes his own way.
Because he is a Fool, he knows nothing. He has no assumptions and limiting beliefs.
He believes in himself and God!
The Fool is unlimited, almighty and indestructible in his own eyes!
A bumblebee cannot fly according to the rules of Aerodynamics. It has got too short wingspan to support the weight of a body.
The bumblebee doesn’t know anything about Aerodynamics and just flies.
Historically people honoured the Holy Fools.
Perhaps the most known Holy Fool has been Russian Basil the Blessed who could see into the future.
Tsar Ivan the Terrible who was notoriously famous for his cruelty (he even murdered his own sun) showed the utmost respect and listened to Basil.
The Holy Fool had unlimited access into Ivan the Terrible’s home (no one would stop him) and could sit at the Tsar’s table with him.
When Basil the Blessed died, Tsar personally carried his coffin with other boyars.
And the Cathedral has been built and named in his honour. Yes, you guessed, it’s the famous St Basil’s Cathedral – the ultimate visiting card of Moscow.
P.S. Nowadays St Basil would be a modest resident of a Care Home for people with learning disabilities.
Kings and Queens have had traditionally Fools at their courts.
The Fools were allowed to make jokes and be cheeky with everyone including the King. And everyone would just laugh and try hard not to feel insulted.
Often the Fools were the closest, wisest and most trusted King’s advisers and supporters.
Chicot, real name Jean-Antoine d’Anglerais, was the jester of King Henry III of France and later Henry IV. He was sharp-tongued and very cunning and spoke with the King without formalities.
Have you heard the expression “be a Fool for God”? That’s about this card.
Be this Fool for God! Be bold, don’t listen too much to what others say or think! Be yourself, live up to your own, not others expectations!
The Fool is a Dreamer. He dreams BIG – and he becomes BIG!
Traditionally The Fool is depicted as a young man with a little bag (his knowledge) looking up (at the face of God and trusting him) and ready to step into an abyss. A dog (common knowledge and common sense) tries to stop him.
There is freedom waiting for you, On the breezes of the sky, And you ask “What if I fall?” Oh but my darling, What if you fly?
Erin Hanson
Everyone is telling The Fool that he will fall, but he believes HE WILL FLY!

Here is a song illustrating this card, Michelle Williams “Tightrope”:
“Some people long for a life that is simple and planned,
Tied with a ribbon.
Some people won’t sail the sea ’cause they are safer on land
To follow what’s written.
But I’d follow you to the great unknown
Off to a world we call our own.
Hand in my hand,
And we promised to never let go,
We’re walking a tightrope,
High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below,
We’re walking a tightrope.
Never sure, never know how far we could fall,
But it’s all an adventure
That comes with a breathtaking view,
Walking a tightrope with you…
…Mountains and valleys, and all that will come in between,
Desert and ocean.
You pulled me in and together we’re lost in a dream,
Always in motion.
So I risk it all just to be with you,
And I risk it all for this life we choose…”
